What a PDF actually gives a converter to work with

A PDF page is a list of drawing instructions: put this glyph at this coordinate, fill this shape with that colour. There are no slides, no text boxes, no layout objects and no master template. Everything that made the original deck editable was discarded the moment it was exported.

That is why the honest output is a faithful picture of each page rather than a guessed-at reconstruction. Tools that claim fully editable slides typically hand back drifting text boxes, substituted fonts and paragraphs split into a dozen fragments — more work to repair than to retype.

Slide-image conversion is usually what people actually want

In practice, most people converting a PDF deck are not rewriting it. They need to present it in PowerPoint, wrap their own title and closing slides around it, drop three report pages into a bigger company deck, or add speaker notes. A full-bleed slide image does all of that while guaranteeing the layout looks exactly like the PDF on every machine.

If you do need the words, run the file through the PDF to Word tool, then paste the text into your own branded template. You will get a better-looking deck than any automatic reconstruction.

Getting the aspect ratio and resolution right

The two things that ruin an imported deck are the wrong slide shape and soft images. Morphio reads the first page's dimensions and defines a matching custom slide layout, so a 16:9 deck stays 16:9 and an A4 report stays portrait — no black bars, no stretched logos.

Pages are then rendered from the vector source at roughly 150 DPI. That is high enough to stay crisp on a projector or a 4K display, and low enough that a 40-slide deck still fits comfortably in an email attachment.

Why local conversion is the whole point here

Think about which PDFs get converted to PowerPoint: fundraising decks, pricing proposals, strategy reviews, quarterly board reporting. Uploading one to an anonymous converter puts your most sensitive document on infrastructure you have never assessed, with a retention policy you have never read.

Because Morphio has no upload path, there is no processor to add to your records, no data-transfer question and nothing to disclose. You can confirm it yourself: open DevTools, switch to Network, convert, and watch that no request carries your file.

FAQ

Yes — the output is a genuine OpenXML .pptx. Open it in PowerPoint, Keynote, Impress or Google Slides and add title slides, speaker notes, transitions or an appendix around the imported pages.
